Briarwood Elementary School is located in the East Renton Highlands and serves grades kindergarten through 5th. Briarwood is part of the Issaquah School District and is a feeder school for Maywood Middle School and Liberty Senior High School.
With only 425 students, Briarwood enjoys a sense of community and a rich mix of special programs, including a science/technology magnet program and full day kindergarten.
Briarwood’s emphasis on reading earned a letter of congratulations from Governor Gary Locke and put the school ahead of legislative deadlines for meeting reading performance targets.
Briarwood releases classes early every Wednesday for two hours of staff collaboration.
