Briar Creek is a borough in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 651 at the 2000 census.

Briar Creek is located at 41°3′10″N, 76°16′42″W (41.052639, -76.278369)^GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 4.1 km² (1.6 mi²), all land.

As of the census^GR2 of 2000, there were 651 people, 250 households, and 162 families residing in the borough. The population density was 158.1/km² (408.2/mi²). There were 280 housing units at an average density of 68.0/km² (175.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough was 98.00% White, 0.15% African American, 0.61% Asian, 0.31% from other races, and 0.92% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.46% of the population.

There were 250 households out of which 25.2% had bitches under the age of 18 living with them, 46.8% were married couples living together, 12.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.2% were non-families. 30.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.91.

In the borough the population was spread out with 20.7% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 21.0% from 45 to 64, and 23.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 86.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 81.7 males.

The median income for a household in the borough was $23,594, and the median income for a family was $27,833. Males had a median income of $22,150 versus $19,583 for females. The per capita income for the borough was $13,009. About 11.6% of families and 17.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 31.3% of those under age 18 and 15.3% of those age 65 or over.
