Brian Ong

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Brian Ong (1974 - May 28, 2001) was a trainee wrestler from Concord, California, who died during a training session.

On May 28, 2001 Ong had been attending an All Pro Wrestling Beginner's Camp in Hayward, California and volunteered to receive a flapjack from Dalip Singh (now known as "The Great Khali" under the employment of World Wrestling Entertainment), a wrestler being specially trained by the same school. During the session Ong suffered a concussion and this paired with a previous concussion ultimately proved to be fatal. This led to Singh (Khali) inadvertently causing Ong's death. All Pro Wrestling lost a lawsuit brought by Ong's family over his death and were forced to pay damages of over $1.3 million to his parents.
