Brian Noble (bishop)

Brian Michael Noble (born 11 April 1936) is the Roman Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Shrewsbury.

He was born in Lancaster, later serving as a priest there after his ordination on 11 June 1960, serving as the Catholic chaplain from 1973 until 1980 at Lancaster University. Bishop Noble was later appointed Bishop of Shrewsbury, his consecration into the episcopate being on 30 August 1995, Archbishop Couve de Murville serving as the Principal Consecrator, with Archbishop Patrick Kelly and Bishop John Brewer serving as the Principal Co-Consecrators. Bishop Noble currently serves as an Episcopal Member of the Department for Christian Life & Worship within the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, personally overseeing committee reports on Spirituality.
