Brian Fitzgerald

Brian Fitzgerald (born March 1, 1947) is an Irish Independent politician. He was a Labour Party Teachta Dála for Meath from 1992 to 1997.

Previously a trade union official with SIPTU, Fitzgerald was elected to Dáil Éireann for Meath during the swing to Labour in the 1992 general election.

Like other Labour TDs elected in 1992, he lost his seat at the 1997 general election. His seat was taken by John Farrelly of Fine Gael whom he had ousted in 1992. Fitzgerald was again unsuccessful as an independent in the 2002 election, and had also previously contested the Nov 1982 and 1989 elections.

Since 1999 Fitzgerald has been an Independent local councillor for Dunshaughlin.
