[edit] Interests

Subjects pertaining to the social sciences, especially those with particular relations to the fields of economics, sociology, and political science. As a multi-national person I also take an especially great intrest in world affairs. A perhaps less scholarly pursuit of mine are luxury automobiles.

While I do my best to stay objective and neutral, I like all other human beings am prone to exhibiting my personal bias at one point or another. My personal viewpoint tends to be that of a Globalist, European-American, secular, upper middle class, liberal, pluralist. I do, however, accomodate all facets of the subject matter I discuss in my articles and provide Wikipedia's readers with the factually most correct and up-to-date information. Thus, I sincerely beleive that I am helping to provide the world with what is, now more than ever before, the world's most precious commodity: knowledge.

[edit] Mission statement

I joined Wikipedia for a simple reason. I believe in education. Ignorance and misunderstanding are, in my humble opinion, the greatest sources for the difficulties and struggles mankind faces in this day and age. I strongly believe in the idea of people sharing their knowledge in an easily accessible, neutral, fact-based forum such as Wikipedia. The internet has presented us with a new tool to make this world a better place. Wikipedia presents an essential step in using this great global resource to improve the human condition. I, like many people, not only have a craving for knowledge but also a perhaps equally strong desire to share at least part of the knowledge which I have acquired. I strive to add useful, educational and wholesome information to Wikipedia. I believe that no credible belief or theory should be excluded. Furthermore I believe that we must be as thorough as possible in our attempts to educate those who come to Wikipedia in the search for information. For me, Wikipedia is a place where the internet has full-filled a part of its promise, to provide a place where people can come together and share their expertise.

That said my favorite Wikipedia rule is BE BOLD!.

[edit] 2006 short summary

The place where it all takes place (at least a glimpse ;-))
The place where it all takes place (at least a glimpse ;-))

As seen in the graph above my edits reached their all-time low while in late spring and early summer, while peaking during the late winter and late summer months. In late winter 05/06 I wrote several articles pertaining to my personal areas of interest, mentioned above. My montly edit count reached its record low I was vacationing in Hawaii in May. In June, July, and August I wrote among others, the American middle class, Household income in the United States, and Educational attainment in the United States articles. Even though I took another vacation in August during which I did not conduct any major edits, my work during the remaining period of the month brought the August average to exceed the one-thousand edits per month mark.

[edit] January 2007

In January I authored the article, Affluence in the United States, which become a GA roughly two weeks after its creation, as well as the Average Joe article. I also re-wrote the remaining sections (except for the Agriculture section) of the Social structure of the United States article which I then nominated for GA status. I added the lower middle class section to the American middle class article and created several graphs to illustrate America's social structure on various relating articles.
On January 25th I conducted edit No 12,000.

[edit] February 2007

Significantly expanded the American upper class article and wrote the American lower class article. I also re-wrote over 80% of the Standard of living in the United States article. Dicussions I was involved in include those regarding the GA nomination of the Social class in the United States article which was moved there from it's previous title, after another preceeding discussion. The article Six figure income was merged into the Affluence in the United States article I wrote in January.
On February 28th I conducted edit No 13,000.

[edit] March 2007

March was one of my least busiest month on Wikipedia with me making less than 500 contributions. Through most of the month I only conducted minor edits, intended towards maintaing the quality of articles on my watchlist. In late March, however, I re-wrote the economy section of the United States article and wrote the stub on Bourgeois personality.
