Talk:Brecknockshire

I am concerned about the population figure, it needs sourcing. It was present in the initial version of the article, and i consider it quite possible that 56,000 was the population of the county in whatever historic gazetteer that had been copied and pasted from. - I've removed this figure and also similar unsourced figures on Caernarfonshire and Radnorshire. Morwen - Talk 10:09, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
[[1]] has pops for Montgomery, Brecon and Radnor, which I will add, with appropriate sourcing. The given pop figure of 56,000 is the same as the 42,000 in area committee and the 14,000 in Brynmawr - it may have been calculated like this? This though would fail to take into account the other parishes; and the bits made part of Monmouth or Glamorgan by Local Government Act 1888. Llannelly has a population of 3706, which pushes the figure well out. Anyway, this is starting to turn into original research. Morwen - Talk 12:02, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
