Brevik

Brevik is a town in Norway with a population of 2,700. Located in the municipality of Porsgrunn in the county of Telemark, Norway, Brevik was its own municipality until 1964, when Brevik, together with Eidanger and Porsgrunn, became a new municipality named Porsgrunn. Brevik is regarded one of the best preserved towns from the sailing ship era. The town is located on the far end of Eidangerhalvøya, and was a former export center for ice and timber. The last shipment of wood to the United Kingdom was around 1960.
Brevik is Cort Adeler's birth town.
