Brett Stewart (born February 27, 1985 in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia) is an Australian rugby league player for the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in the National Rugby League competition. His preferred playing position is fullback.
Brett's nickname is "Snake" due to his very thin physique and his lightning speed, which has made him one of the most elusive players in rugby league for opposition teams. He can also cause a nightmare for many teams, with all but two teams which played at Brookvale Oval in 2006 conceding tries to Stewart. In round 14, with the Eagles trailing 12-10, Stewart juggled the ball from Wests Tigers' Benji Marshall after a Matt Orford banana kick to seal victory. In round 24, against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Stewart scored three tries, possibly to make up for not scoring against Melbourne in round 11. He failed to score the following week against the Bulldogs in round 25.
Brett was second on the top try scorer list for the 2006 season, behind the South Sydney Rabbitohs' Nathan Merritt. He currently has the best strike rate for tries versus games in the NRL, taking over from Timana Tahu. In his first representative match playing for the Prime Minister's XIII against Papua New Guinea, he contributed to Australia's 28-8 win with a try.
Brett was a finalist in the Sexiest Man in League contest for 2006, where he finished seventh with 6.5% of the vote.
