Brett Skinner (born on June 28, 1983, in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada) is a professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the NHL's Anaheim Ducks organization. Skinner was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks 68th overall in the 3rd round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
Brett was a member of the Trail Smoke Eaters in the BCHL in 2000-2001, the Des Moines Buccaneers in the USHL in 2001-2002, and then the University of Denver from 2002-2005. As a Pioneer, he was a member of two NCAA national championship winning teams, was named an All-American, and was named team captain before signing a professional contract prior to the start of his senior year. He spent the 2005-06 season playing with the Manitoba Moose in the AHL. Skinner completed the season with the Moose despite being traded to the Anaheim Ducks during the season. Skinner currently plays for the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights in the AHL.
