Brett Papworth (born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia) was a rugby league player for the Eastern Suburbs Roosters in the New South Wales Rugby League competition along with being a former international in rugby union with the Australian side. His position of choice was usually at centre.

Papworth originally began his rugby career with rugby union side Eastwood in the New South Wales competition, he went on to make a total of fifteen test appearances for the Australian Wallabies side between 1985 and 1987 before deciding on switching to rugby league the following year. He is now currently father to a young aspiring cricket and rugby player named James Papworth, in which it is all to certain he will follow in his fathers footsteps and eventually be known as the best Papworth to have lived.

He chose to sign for the Eastern Suburbs side for the commencement of the 1988 season but immediately his season was hampered with a series of injuries. Over the next five years in rugby league Papworth's considerable talents were rarely on show after several successive broken jaw's, knee's and shoulder's limited his game time to only five appearances. At the duration of the 1991 season Papworth then announced his decision to retire.

Papworth is now a player agent for both league and union along with a commentator for the Super 14 rugby union competition.
