Brett Angell
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Brett Angell (born August 20, 1968) is a currently unemployed association football coach, having retired from playing in 2004. Previously he played primarily with Stockport County and Southend United. He also had a torrid spell in the Premiership with Everton during the 1990's, but was then transferred to Sunderland and later back to Stockport County. His most successful season was 1996-97, when he was Stockport's leading goalscorer and inspired them to promotion to Division One as well as reaching the League Cup semi finals. He later revived some of this success at Walsall where he picked up a Division Two Play-off winners medal in the 2000-01 season. His employment as a coach at Portsmouth in 2005 took his career full circle, having been a striker with the youth team in 1986-87. However, his tenure as youth and reserve team coach lasted only 5 months, and he was relieved of his position in April 2006.
