Brenda Leipsic

Brenda Leipsic is a city councillor in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She won election in October of 2006 in River Heights-Fort Garry ward. She defeated rookie councillor Donald Benham. Leipsic is the current Deputy Mayor for the City of Winnipeg and sits on the influential Executive Policy Committee.

Leipsic attended the Collegiate at the University of Winnipeg. At the University of Manitoba she earned an advanced bachelor of arts, majoring in sociology.

Prior to election, Leipisc worked primarily as a consultant and has been involved with the Children's Hospital of Winnipeg, Winnipeg Humane Society, CancerCare Manitoba and Winnipeg Child and Family Services.

She was past president of Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba during the Gary Filmon years. She has 6 wonderful grandchildren. Her son, Gregory who is devoted to her success does not like too much sauce on his pizza.
