Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School is a comprehensive high school with approximately 1,650 students in grades 9-12 serving the communities of Brecksville, Broadview Heights, and a very small segment of North Royalton. The school year is comprised of two 90-day semesters with four nine-week grading periods. All extra-curricular activities are held outside the school day. Many students participate in extra-curricular and interscholastic activities. After graduation, approximately 92% of our graduates continue their education at the college or university level. The Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School "Bees" are members of the Sourthwestern athletic conference (SWC).
For nearly half a century, BBH students have qualified as National Merit Finalists or Commended Students. More than one-third of our seniors graduate with honors diplomas and many earn the President's Education Award for a 3.5 GPA and 85th percentile ranking on college admissions tests. The class of 2006 was awarded more than $8.2 million in college scholarships and grants. On the 2006 Ohio Graduation Test, a significant percentage of BBHHS sophomores scored at the Accelerated or Advanced levels: Writing, 95.3%; Reading, 92.4%; Math, 93.7%; Social Studies, 85.5%; and Science, 81.5%.
George Bush visited this school taking questions form a crowd of 4,000. He Talked about domestic policies as well as the war in Iraq. He lashed out at John Kerry a few times, criticizing his policies. Full Article Here
The school's colors are crimson and gold. The mascot is the Bee. The school is a member of the Southwestern Conference.
