[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Zavrl_Janez2006.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Zavrl_Janez2006.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you. -- Carnildo 07:34, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Telemark.jpg.jpg listed for deletion
[edit] Page submitted is a candidate for speedy deletion
A tag has been placed on your article Maynor René Suazo, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Maynor René Suazo is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Maynor René Suazo. Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. -- Casper2k3 20:53, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ardian.jpg)
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Ardian.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Kjetil_r 22:09, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:180x150 2006-LovHam-Spurkeland.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:180x150 2006-LovHam-Spurkeland.JPG. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 16:43, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Andresen,_Martinroster2006.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Andresen,_Martinroster2006.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] Image:Monkam BRANN06.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Monkam BRANN06.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a free image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Re: 2006/07 Speed Skating World Cup
Hey - just saw your work on 2006/07 Speed Skating World Cup. I've been working on 2007 Speed Skating World Cup; I don't care where the information is, really, but it seems a bit dumb to have 2 articles on the same thing - so would you mind if one was redirected to the other? Sam Vimes | Address me 15:08, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Brandenburg, in addition to what is said above I'd like to inform you about that your 2006/07 Ski jumping World Cup has a twin brother at 2007 Ski Jumping World Cup, created by me and helped with by Sam Vimes as well. The best thing would be merging them together, but as the lay-outs are pretty much different I'd also like your opinion on that before making any changes. Cheers, SportsAddicted | discuss 13:50, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- Yes I also think your name is better because the events take part in both years. The reason that I only named 2007 was because 2007 Alpine Skiing World Cup was already created inclusive previous years. I think we should rename all existing World Cups that cover 2006 and 2007. But before we do that we should merge these two articles. I don't mind much which article to keep as the information inside is pretty much the same, but in a different lay-out. The only reason why we might be using the article created by me is that other (winter) sports have the same lay-out, but I don't mind using your lay-out for ski jumping. I will drop a note to Sam Vimes so he can read this comment on your talk page and see what his opinion is. If you want to comment on this too, please comment it here, so we have it all together. Cheers, SportsAddicted | discuss 21:22, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, I got the notice from SA. :) I think it would be better if all the "winter sports" cups looked sort of similar, and had the same name. I'd also think that including both years is clever, but personally I'd write 2006-07 with a - instead of a /, because that's what football, cricket, American sports and a lot of other things on Wiki use, so it'd be easier for people to find.
- I think your tables can contain more information, so even though the article can get very long to scroll through, I think a table like this for results
Rank | Name | Nationality | 1st (m) | 2nd (m) | Points | Overall WC points |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Arttu Lappi | FIN | 141.0 | - | 154.8 | 100 |
2 | Simon Ammann | SUI | 136.5 | - | 145.7 | 80 |
3 | Anders Jacobsen | NOR | 137.5 | - | 145.5 | 60 |
4 | Veli-Matti Lindström | FIN | 132.0 | - | 135.6 | 50 |
5 | Michael Neumayer | GER | 130.5 | - | 129.9 | 45 |
-
- is the best to use. (Perhaps without the pink background, though?) However, I kind of like my total season tables, as they show the overall scores and how the athlete performs over the season. Sam Vimes | Address me 21:52, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

-
- What I was thinking was that someone (preferably me, I suppose) goes on to convert everything to the same format. 2006-2007 Cross Country Skiing World Cup, 2007 Speed Skating World Cup, 2006 Alpine Skiing World Cup, etc. I think there's an advantage to everything looking the same.
-
-
-
- As for who should be included on the aggregate tables: top 15 is a reasonable cut-off IMO. Should include most athletes who were in the TV screen and in the media, without getting too big. Possibly also include everyone who has won a race during the season - so something like

- (example from biathlon)
-
15. | Ivan Tcherezov | 405 | ||||||
23. | Roman Dostal | 281 |

-
- (assuming Dostal won a race, which he didn't.) Sam Vimes | Address me 12:01, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds good, In my opinion, going down with the tables of each World Cup meeting by naming the top 5 takes too much space, while it can be easily reduced by naming them aside on one row for each event. SportsAddicted | discuss 20:57, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- I see your point and I do agree that it might be better to include more information in a sport like ski jumping than is possible to include in the one line reports like in some other sports. It's hard to decide which one to choose, but the most important in my opinion is that we're not overdoing things by having two separate articles like the current situation. SportsAddicted | discuss 21:20, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- I guess we have reached an agreement then :) SportsAddicted | discuss 21:48, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Ski jumper infobox
Hey. Thanks for creating this template. I made some changes, as the template transclusions used to create whitespaces, and the black text wasn't very readable on a #007FFF background. Thanks, Prolog 14:59, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
- The reason why it should be a lighter, more neutral color is usability. It might look good to you, but for example, on my screen the text is barely readable. We have to think about all the possible users of the information, with different monitors, brightnesses, contrasts etc. Several infoboxes have recently been updated with more suitable colors, such as {{Album}} and {{Infobox musical artist}} (see discussion). It doesn't matter that also the football template uses lightsteelblue, as this template is not related to ski jumping. Of course, it doesn't have to be lightsteelblue. That was just my suggestion. Thanks, Prolog 09:57, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Hansa logo.jpeg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Hansa logo.jpeg. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
Thank you.
Again, please note that this image must be used in a main namespace article to not be orphaned. Use on a userpage or userbox does not count, and this image in particular may not be used outside of the main article namespace because it is copyrighted. See Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9.
