Talk:Brampton Transit
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There are 2 sections, one called Routes, the other called Brampton Transit Routes. Can someone with knowledge and/or time consolidate them?
Dear Sir
I am not sure if this is the right site to voice my opinion. But being a visually impaired person, I am not able to spend much time searching further. I am thankful that BT recognizes my CNIB client card, just as MT.
I moved to Brampton late 2005 and for obivious reasons commute by bus a lot. First of all I must ppoint out that the present Bus Station at BCC is far from adequate forthe increasing population in Brampton. I dont know if the Region of Peelhas plans for a more practical and spacious bus station in the near future.
I notice that the waiting area if any, at the BCC is too small. Especially during the cold months, commuters have to cramp into a very smallarea and to make matters worse, the ticketing office too is located in this tiny area.
There is no dearth of space around the BCC and part of the present parking lot could be used for a spacious waiting area fully equipped with coffee shop, washrooms etc. Similar or better than the Square One Terminal!
Also BT should consider more frequent services to all major Malls in Brampton. At present the only way to get to Shoppers World is by Route No.8 and its punishing to sit for an hour in that bus. Even taking 1A and then 1B is equally time consuming. Why not connect the two Malls by a direct bus? Similarly I do not know if any bus run to Westwood Mall from BCC, making it easy to visit the Woodbine Casino.
Hope in the coming years the BT makes the necessary changes including constructing covered shelter all along the City. I notice bus shelters are not adequate and waiting at the open stops during the winter months are a terrible experience.
