Bramha in sanskrit means 'nucleus' and astra means weapon. So Bramhastra means 'nuclear weapon'. The Ramayana, Mahabharatha and other hindu script talk the destruction power of this weapon and it is believed that GODS always cautioned warriors against the use of this weapon.
