Talk:Brad Ward
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The website would suggest there is notable evidence of the other Brad Ward
... evidence that he exists, but not of notability. You have to be a public figure to get a Wikipedia page. In any event, I can only get a "down for maintenance" message on the site. CJCurrie 02:41, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
....... the website is working now i believe.
In any event, you should create a new page (with a title like "Brad Ward (web designer)", for instance) rather than adding on to this one, if you are a public figure. CJCurrie 02:48, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
If it was reasonable for a page to be created with Brad Ward (web designer) don't you think it would be right to have this one Brad Ward (politician)?
I'm still not convinced "Brad Ward (web designer)" is notable,; ergo, I'm not convinced that a disambiguation for this page would be necessary. CJCurrie 02:55, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
Where would i source notability for Brad Ward (politician) any internet search either brings up this page or other un-related search results! How can anyone else verify even the existence of the other Brad Ward ?
"Brad Ward (politician)" was an elected official before the web became popular. I'm not surprised that a web search would yield few results, but that's not a fair measure of "relevance" in this instance.
Verifiability is a publishing policy of wikipedia and i would see that it is entirely irrelevant whether his time was before the web became popular infact it should be recorded in history if he is so old and if no source can be sought then it would be fair to say that the notability of Brad Ward (politician) is questionable
Sigh ... Brad Ward (politician) is mentioned in the Canadian Parliamentary Guide between 1990 and 1995, in the official election returns of 1990, in several newspaper clippings from his time in office -- and, if you want online verification, he's also mentioned here.
