First Lieutenant Pryor Richard Perkins was a member of the 20th Aero Squadron, United States Army and died October 3, 1918 (during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive) as he was landing his de Havilland DH-4 at Marilan Field, France in clouds and fog when another machine landed on top of his causing him to fall 50 feet to his death.
