Branko Čulina

Branko Čulina [ˈtʃulina] is the current Technical Director of Soccer NSW and the current interim coach of Australian A-League team Sydney FC. He is also a football analyst for SBS, regularly appearing on The World Game.
Čulina was born in Zadar, in Croatia (then Yugoslavia) and emigrated to Australia in 1968, at the age of 10 [1].
In the mid 1990s, Čulina was coach of Sydney United in the National Soccer League, winning the minor premiership and reaching the competition Grand Final in the 1996/97 season. Overall he coached 133 games for Sydney United, with 62 wins, 32 draws, and 39 losses, including an Australian record of 8 consecutive victories. He also had spells at Melbourne Knights, Canberra Cosmos and Sydney Olympic.
Following the demise of the NSL, Čulina had been working as Technical Director for the state governing body Soccer NSW. In 2006 he returned to coaching after he was given an interim role at Sydney FC, to guide the A-League club compete in its first Asian Champions League campaign.
He is the father of current Socceroo Jason Čulina.
