Brandon (dog)

Brandon (born 1984) was the pet golden retriever on the television series "Punky Brewster." He was named for then-president of NBC, Brandon Tartikoff.[1]
Trained by Glen Garner, Brandon was only a puppy when the show began in 1984 and was trained on a week to week basis depending on what the script called for him to do.[2] He learned how to ride a skateboard, open a door, and slide objects around with his front paw, among other things.
Though virtually nothing is known about his life following the cancellation of Punky Brewster in 1988, it is unlikely he is still alive; the life expectancy of golden retrievers range from 10-12 years[3] to 13-18 years.[4] A Google.com search[5] will return mostly "Punky Brewster" episode guides, pages on "Punky Brewster" season box sets on DVD, and lists of famous golden retrievers. Brandon's whereabouts are unknown.
