Brajavali
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Brajavali is the language used by Srimanta Sankardeva, Madhabdev and other composers who belonged to the religious sect started by Srimanta Sankardeva in the 15th-16th century in Assam. In general, the language carries the flavor of Brajbhasa, the language of choice of the Bhakti poets, but it was sufficiently adapted in idiom, vocabulary etc. to the local language of the people of Assam at that time.
