Brahmin communities
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Brahmin communities in India are traditionally divided into two regional groups: Pancha-Gauda Brahmins and Pancha-Dravida Brahmins as per the shloka, The shloka only identifies the caste-system present on the basis of their regional presence. The classification of Brahmin, the Highest Varna on the basis of Region is debatable. The duties of a Brahim are defined already in the Vedas. Such classification should also identify if the duties differed along with the region. If such the duties of a brahim did not differ then why was this necessary?

The classification first occurs in Rajatarangini of Kalhana.
