Bradbury-Nielsen shutter

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A type of electrical ion gate, which was first proposed in an article by Norris E. Bradbury and Russel A. Nielsen in Physical Review, vol. 49, pages 388-393.

The idea is to apply a high frequency voltage to alternate wires in a grid, so that charged particles can only go through at certain times in the voltage phase.
