Brad Josephson

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Brad Josephson is a fictional character that exists in the Stephen King and Richard Bachman mirror-world books known as "Desperation" and "The Regulators," respectively.

On the Earth that is the setting of "Desperation," Brad is an employee -secretary, actually -of the Deep Mining Corporation, which is mining copper from the mines at Desperation, Nevada. On the Earth of "The Regulators," his occupation is unknown, and he lives on Poplar Street in Wentworth, Ohio with the rest of the characters in that novel.

On both worlds, he is a portly but otherwise handsome black man in his mid-forties.

[edit] Death

As is the case with the majority of the characters in the two novels, Brad Josephson survives the events of one book but dies in the other.

In "Desperation," Brad is lured to the China Pit by the Tak-possessed body of Cary Ripton, who is in desperate need of a replacement host since Tak's energies are rapidly wearing that body out. As is the case with all such transformations, the infusion of Tak into Brad Josephson's body utterly destroys his "spirit/soul;" later, after Tak leaves Brad's body in favor of Collie Entragian's, Brad's body falls lifelessly to the ground.

In "The Regulators," Brad survives the events of that novel.
