[edit] History

The Boynton Beach Mall opened in 1985. Stores that once operated in the mall included Jordan Marsh (Sears is now located here), KB Toys, Lord & Taylor (Mervyn's took it's place and Dillard's is now located here), Burdines, which once had a cafeteria overlooking the mall entrance (now Macy's), Taco Viva (Wendy's is now located here), a video game arcade (now Hot Topic), Camelot Music (FYE is now in this location, although the original Camelot Music store was considerably smaller), Mr. Bulky's (a bulk candy store opposite the food court), Long John Silvers (a jewelry store is now located here), B. Dalton Bookstore (now a "Rack Room Shoes" store), Walgreens, a cigar shop, an organ/piano store, Jo-Anne Fabrics and Suncoast( a movie and music store). Macy's original strore front was a later addition to the mall and was torn down to make room for a new Muvico theater. Dillard's (which is separated into two sections) was also a later addition to the mall structure.

In the center of the mall, there used to be a fountain with a large monarch butterfly atop a waterfall, which fell in short bursts, so as to create an unusual sound.
