BoxRec.com is a website dedicated to keep updated records of professional boxers, both male and female. It also maintains a mediawiki based encyclopaedia of boxing BoxRec Wiki
The objective of the site is to document every single professional boxer and boxing match from the instigation of the Queensberry Rules up to the present day.
As of December 2006 the BoxRec database contained the records of 319,592 boxers and 1,138,288 bouts[1], an increase from 306,456 boxers and 1,089,689 contained in July. The encyclopaedia contains 30,752 articles.
BoxRec publishes daily updated current ratings for all active boxers and all time ratings. It is a source of information for many boxing journalists and researchers across the world. Boxrec is currently undergoing a process to become recognized as the official record keeper for the ABC.
The website has editors based in many different countries:- Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, Cuba, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Peru, The Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Ukraine, the United Kingdom (also Wales), the United States and Venezuela.[1]
