[edit] "My Webcam" video and Logitech
In 2006, bowiechick posted a video titled "The Breakup", where she discussed her personal life while experimenting with web cam effects. After receiving many comments about the effects, she produced a video titled "My Webcam", explaining how the effects were achieved using a Logitech Quickcam Orbit MP. [2]
The "My Webcam" video is credited as doubling sales of the Quickcam at Amazon.com, inspiring interest of other businesses wishing to duplicate that result. [3] Apparently, the viewer reaction was in response to the use of Logitech Video Effects in her video, though it's been noted that bowiechick was not hired by Logitech to do this. [4]
In early 2007, bowiechick announced that she would be switching from YouTube to an alternative service LiveVideo.[citation needed]
