Bouzareah

Bouzareah is a suburb of Algiers, the capital of Algeria, North Africa, and its eleventh district. It has a population of about 200,000 people and an altitude of over 600 meters ASL. The city's name is Arabic and means "of the grain" or "from the grain". The embassies of Niger, Oman, and Mauritania are located here.

[edit] Coat of Arms
The first quarter is red, the heraldic color of Africa with a tower to represent a fort located in the city. The second quarter is green, the color of Islam, of sinople with a kouba to point out the koubbas of Sidi-Nouman inter alia. With the third district, sinople cypresses to point out the wooded solid mass which covered formerly all the "Bouzaréah". With the fourth district the crescent of Islam with the stars which refer to the Observatory of the Celestial Village on blue of France. We owe this splendid blazon in Théo Bruand d' Uzelle which carried out this work in 1993.

The city shelters great institutions:
- an astronomical observatory, it Research center in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics (' CRAAG ', ex-Observatory of Algiers),
- the École higher normal of Bouzaréah (normal ex-School Teachers of Algiers-Bouzaréah, creates imperial decree of March 4, 1865,
- the TDA (Tele Algerian Diffusion),
- the broadcast transmitting station of the operator of mobile telephony Djezzy, subsidiary of Orascom Télécom Algeria, which is the largest telephone operator in Algerie.
- Department of Sciences of Education - the University of Bouzaréah has (Air of France)
- the Superieure school of Bank.
- The basilica Our Lady of Africa.
Bouzaréah also shelters the vastest forest of Algiers: the forest of Baïnem .

GUIDE BLUE 1938: 4 K 5. Bouzaréa (hôt.: Celestial-hotel, in an old mauresque house, very beautiful sight; from France), small town of 5,468 hab. including 1,633 French, to 600 Mr. of alt.... It is the true * view-point of the surroundings of Algiers. Unfortunately, the climax of the solid mass is now occupied by a fort of which cannot approach.... To enjoy the sight, one will go initially, while taking on the right on the place of the village, with (1 K E.) European cemetery (sight on Algiers its bay); then, returning in the place of the village and taking with G, one will gain (1 km 0.) the indigenous village (sight on the Sahel), with its koubbas shaded dwarf palimiers and his small mosque of Sidi Noumane.... De Bouzaréa, one sees: with N, the ravines precipice going down towards the Pescade point and sea; with O, the point of Sidi Ferruch, heights of the Sahel, the tomb of the Christian woman, Chenoua; with S. and the E, slopes of Mustapha, the course Matifou, the Atlas blidéen with the cut of Chiffa, snow-covered summits of Djurjura.
[edit] Bouzareah the Asteroid

He published scientific articles for the period of 1894-1918 on the matter of comets and of the asteroids. He worked at the astronomical observatory the Research center in Astronomy, Astrophysique and Geophysics (CRAAG, ex-Observatory of Algiers) and was a colleague of François Gonnessiat. He discovered two asteroides baptized name of
- "El Djezaïr" (Arabic Algerie) 26 Mai 1916 c' is the 858eme asteroide on List of the asteroids
- "the Bouzareah 1916 c' is the 859 asteroide on List of the asteroids
