Bounce (musical)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bounce is a musical by Stephen Sondheim with a libretto by John Weidman. Harold Prince directed the musical when it premiered on June 20, 2003 at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago (interrupted by a lawsuit by Scott Rudin)[1]. The production also played at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. in the fall of 2003, but was never mounted in New York. It is the story of Addison and Wilson Mizner's adventures across America in the 1800s. It premiered in workshop in 1999 under the title Wise Guys. Directed by Sam Mendes, it played at the New York Theatre Workshop starring Victor Garber and Nathan Lane.
A private reading of Bounce was done at the Public Theater on February 6, 2006. [2] It was reported that Eric Schaeffer directed, with Richard Kind and Bernadette Peters among the cast.
