Bottles (Banjo-Kazooie)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bottles the shortsighted mole is one of the main characters in the Banjo-Kazooie series of games. He is a stereotypical geek, with large, thick, cokebottle framed glasses (hence his name), and awkward height and weight. He has appeared in every Banjo-Kazooie game so far, except for Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, where he was only mentioned by Banjo and Mumbo.

[edit] Banjo-Kazooie
Bottles' main role in Banjo-Kazooie is to assist the player with new moves, and appeared in nearly every level of the game. He and Kazooie constantly fired insults at each other throughout the game, often making fun of his short, geeky appearance (two particular nicknames, Jamjars and Bozzeye, are revealed to be names for his brother and an old relative, respectively). He appears in the following areas:
- Spiral Mountain
- Gruntilda's Lair
- Mumbo's Mountain
- Treasure Trove Cove
- Clanker's Cavern
- Bubblegloop Swamp
- Freezeezy Peak
- Gobi's Valley
[edit] Banjo-Tooie
In Banjo Tooie, after casting a spell meant to destroy Banjo and Kazooie, the undead Gruntilda kills Bottles instead, resulting in Banjo, Kazooie and Mumbo Jumbo taking revenge for his death. The game also reveals additional details regarding his family, and indicates that he has a wife, Mrs. Bottles, two kids, Speccy and Goggles, and a brother, Jamjars, who takes over the role Bottles held in the prequel. At the end of the game, he is revived.
A secret game mode, called Bottles' Revenge, and only accessible with a GameShark or ROM emulator, allows hidden playability of the ghostly Bottles. In this mode, two-players are playing. One controls Banjo, the other controls a ghostly, devilish Bottles, and can possess nearby enemies by pressing "R," and have complete control over them. If the duo enters a Boss stage, however, Ghost Bottles will say that he's "not needed" and disappear.
[edit] Banjo-Pilot
Bottles appears as the host of the races, similar to T.T. in Diddy Kong Racing. Also like T.T., the player must race against him, collect six Jiggy pieces, and win in each level. He is also an unlockable character, again like T.T and one of the best, outflying nearly every other pilot.
[edit] Trivia
- In Banjo-Kazooie if Banjo does not want help from Bottles, he will not help you if you ask him later. If you ask him too many times he will threaten to erase all of your data. Banjo will stop him in the middle of deleting the data.
