The Boston and Albany Railroad (not to be confused with the Boston and Albany Railroad that operated in New England) was chartered in 1891 to build a rail line from Boston, GA to Albany, GA. After two years, very little progress had been made and the railroad was reorganized as the Georgia Northern Railway.
