Bos-Brook

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Bos-Brook (or a BO-BR) is a stone embedded in the sidewalk marking the town line of Brookline, Massachusetts and the city limits of Boston, Massachusetts. There are two known Bos-Brooks, on Washington Street, across from each other in the sidewalks. The one of the north-bound side reads "Bos-Brook", while the other reads "BO-BR." The BO-BR stone is raised about 5 cm above the surface of the sidewalk, while the Bos-Brook is flush with the surface of the sidewalk.

To date, there are no other known Bos-Brooks along the town line/city limits, nor are they known to exist for non-Boston/Brookline lines. It is also not known how old these stones are, or if one is older than the other.
