[edit] Block of User:Beostaerling

Why did you indef block User:Beostaerling after their 48-hour block ended? As far as I can tell, the only vandalism they made afterwards was creating Alexander Radyushin. That's hardly enough to justify an indefinite block, in my opinion. I'm talking to them on IRC, and they say they regret their actions. But I don't want to unblock without talking to you first, lest we start wheel warring. Veinor (talk to me) 15:21, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

The reason for the block was: "vandal account with no useful edits". But I've unblocked him to give a second chance. Let's see. --BorgQueen 17:34, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you.

[edit] Durio kutejensis

Greetings! I was going through the WP:PLANTS assessment quality log and noticed the project tag was removed from Durio kutejensis. Upon further investigation, it looks like you redirected the page to Durian. From what I understand, this is a current species name, correct? Why, then, redirect to the genus? Every species deserves its own article--that's actually the goal of WP:PLANTS. (Durian, by the way, is a fantastic article. Excellent job!). Cheers, --Rkitko (talk) 06:25, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Durio kutejensis was a stub article and it didn't tell much more about the species than what is told on List of Durio species (if I recall correctly), hence the merging. If you see some possibility for expansion, you are more than welcome to revert my redirecting. Thanks for the compliment on Durian. --BorgQueen 06:32, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Ah, I see. I hadn't looked at the list. First impression is to make stubs of all the small descriptions next to each species. There's always room for expansion, though a lot of the articles I've worked on will never get past stub-class because of a lack of published information (see Stylidium kunthii), but photos, taxonomic information, larger species descriptions can always be added. My instinct is always to create even the smallest sub-stub for expansion later. Also, WP:LIST does exactly spell it out, but it suggests that lists shouldn't contain descriptions for each item. See List of Drosera species for one of my favorite species lists. I'd be more than happy to help create/categorize/assess the species pages and cleanup the list, but I don't want to step on your toes! Let me know what you think of my proposal. Cheers, --Rkitko (talk) 07:00, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
If you are willing to take up all the hard work, I don't see why not. :-D --BorgQueen 07:03, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Hard work is what I live for! Plus I need something to do while I'm supervising BotanyBot. (You should also consider joining us over at WikiProject Plants. You've done a lot of great work within the scope of the project and it'd be great to have you participate in our discussions. More ideas and viewpoints are always welcome!) --Rkitko (talk) 07:11, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Excellent! 1 down, 29 to go? :-) I'll return to work on the rest later. Just another possible suggestion for you: WP:NC (flora) is the naming convention for flora. In some cases such as coffee and Coffea arabica it may be necessary to split the article between the fruit/produce and the genus or species. I'm thinking Durian may also benefit from such a split since there are several species that produce the popular fruit, but not all members of the genus do so. The purpose and goal of the Durian and Durio articles would be quite different. Just something else to gnaw on. For now, I'm going to bed! Best, --Rkitko (talk) 08:20, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] EMC² Barnstar

The E=mc² Barnstar
I, Kevin, hereby award the EMC² Barnstar to BorgQueen for her great job and helpful additions to Melatonin. Thanks! -- Kevin (TALK)(MUSIC) 02:42, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vitamin C article

Thanks for all your edits! Boy, you were busy. Anyway, I come to ask a favour. While any positive edits are helpful (and they are), there are a few key things our article needs fixing, before we can get it to FA status. See Wikipedia:Peer review/Vitamin C and Talk:Vitamin C#GA__Pass for the details. Thanks for all your help :) I look forward to working with you — Jack · talk · 22:46, Friday, 16 March 2007

[edit] Thanks!

Thanks for contributing to the Asteroids in astrology page! I really appreciate it, and from someone so apparently legendary!

Oh, and sorry about editing the Cupido page, at the time it seemed like that redirect didn't matter, but I see your reasoning. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by IdLoveOne (talkcontribs).

You are more than welcome, although I don't think I have done much for the article. And thanks for your compliment, but no, I'm not legendary. --BorgQueen 01:09, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Blocking of User:129.94.6.28 (UNSW)

Hi BorgQueen,

I watch the IP talk pages of my school, the University of New South Wales, in case I'll need to forward abuse reports to the IT department. However, I do find your recent 1 month block perplexing considering that the IP address has produced far more positive contributions over the month of March than vandalism. 129.94.6.28 (talk contribs). I won't unblock it myself due to the conflict of interest, but I would urge you to review your decision carefully. --  Netsnipe  ►  04:26, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

The IP has been unblocked as you requested. Thanks for your note. --BorgQueen 04:34, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] block of user

hello, you recently blocked our school from wikipedia probably because of the vandalism from one of our students. if you do not unblock us i will be forced to take this case to a higher matter. this has caused my school to have much confusion as to why wikipedia will not work. you must ceast and desist this blocking or were going to have problems mister. i got ten complaints today as to why students could not create accounts on wikipedia today! --Toccsevobal 22:44, 20 March 2007 (UTC) Suzanna Foo, Principle Brooklyn Heights Middle School

Are you considering legal action? Because if you are, then you must cease editing Wikipedia immediately per the policy regarding legal action. I also wonder why you called a user named BorgQueen 'mister'. Furthermore, the IP address of the school is required in order to determine whether to unblock. Veinor (talk to me) 22:51, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Black pepper

Why did you on the 20th of March in the black pepper article remove the mention regarding the cicatrisation vertu of pepper ? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.132.209.47 (talkcontribs). Please can you tell me ?

[edit] Request block

Could you please block this user: Rickquiroz. He's been warned a couple of times and all he does is vandalize. Thank you. Aeuio 19:35, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

The user has been already blocked by another admin. --BorgQueen 03:18, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Durian

Great job; congratulations! :-) :-) Sorry I didn't have the energy to chime in there. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 02:42, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

I concur, excellent job! Also letting you know I didn't forget about List of Durio species. I'll be getting back to it shortly. And yes, it does look like the featured lists have a little description. Perhaps I'll have to look at them a bit more and see what kind of table I can come up with. I'm thinking alphabetized list with a column noting unique features that set each species apart from one another and another column: "Edible fruit? Yes/No". Maybe a "cultivated? Yes/No" column, too. Thoughts? It'd be nice to get that to featured list status. I think it'd be pretty easy, too. Cheers, --Rkitko (talk) 02:33, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kama Sutra

Greetings. I notice that you have helped with vandal cleanups and editing on the Kama Sutra article. I recently proposed removal of the detailed chapter titles, which are not reliably sourced, as a step to reduce the juvenile interest in this article (See: Talk:Kama_Sutra#Chapter_titles_can_be_removed). I am wondering if you would support such a step? My suggestion has gotten no feedback and I hesitate to just edit the titles out without having at least one supporter for the idea.
