Talk:Borivoj I of Bohemia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For anyone curious about my sources I'll readily admit they're few in number. No decent work on medieval Czech history exists in English (as far as I know). Most books about the region skim quickly over the early rulers and move onto the Hussite Wars where sources a bit more plentiful. I lived in the Czech Republic for a year in 2002 and picked up a few books in the native language. Whilst my spoken Czech is abysmal, I can read it fairly well (with the help of a dictionary) and the result is the articles I'm contributing here. Until the reign of Boleslav II most dates are sketchy at best and shouldn't be taken as gospel. All other information is translated from Czech (not word for word - I'm not capable of that) and mixed with my own knowledge of the period, country and its neighbours. Anything I haven't been able to translate with 100% certainty that I'm being accurate, I chose to leave out. At present I'm only providing years as dates. A bit later I'll revise the articles and add more days and months to provide a better chronology.
