Talk:Borders of Poland
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
OK, that's strange. Polish governmental websites have different values for lenght of Polish border. Compare: prezydent.pl data (quoting PWN Encyklopedia as a source and also identical to this article in WIEM Encyklopedia) to GUS (pdf, go to page 26). Which one is correct? Or should we list both? Still, it will be rather amusing to see an encyclopedic entry for a major country with note that that country's governmental sources are confused about the lenght of its border... I mean, I have troubles imagining this sentence: borders of Poland are 3582 km [ref1] long or 3511 km [ref2] long...-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk 03:25, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, that is hard to define for us, sitting in front of the notebooks. :) Borders of every nation are still slightly reevaluated. For example, this month Czech Prime Minister negotiated in Warszawa about several hectares of land on CZ-PL border, freaky designed in rush in 1919. Result is, Poland will be slightly "larger". Also new modern measurements, mostly in mountainious areas give new results. I attended a Political Geography course last year. :) - Darwinek 08:44, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
