Gareth Owen has been removing the album cover images from many of Tokerboy's entries, shouting COPYRIGHT VIOLATION! in each case. However...
Does posting an album cover or book dust jacket in fact constitute a copyright violation? It's done all the time, particularly in sales papers. Does this not constitute fair use? Also, since the intent is not to use the image for profit, but merely for informational purposes, would it be a copyright violation anyway?
Eclecticology has been reverting the images, citing fair use, but maybe we should discuss this so it doesn't happen in the future. -- Storm
