Borris-in-Ossory (Buiríos Mór Osraí in Irish) is a small town in County Laois, Republic of Ireland, located in the midlands of Ireland. It is best known as a stopping-off point for road travellers heading to or from the south-west of Ireland.

[edit] Transport & communications

The strategic location of the town along the N7 road ensures plenty of through trade from motorists travelling between Limerick and Dublin. Most travellers with Bus Éireann between these cities are very familiar with the town – all scheduled bus services (including "non-stop" expresses) between the cities stop there for 15 minutes. There is a small hotel with a snackery which benefits greatly from these transit passengers.

[edit] Sport

The local GAA club is called after the town Borris-in-Ossory GAA.
