Born to Spawn/Uniform Behavior is the 9th episode of the second season of Rocko's Modern Life, one of Nickelodeon's Nicktoons.

[edit] Born To Spawn

This episode is about when Filburt turns twenty-one after the planets align with each other and is called to his home island of Kerplopitgoes (a parody of Galápagos Islands) for his adult party. At first he hates having to become an adult and tells Rocko and Heffer to do all they can from making him not to go, but eventually is pulled the island by natural instinctive forces. Rocko and Heffer race to the island to rescue Filbert but he enjoys himself along with the rest of the turtles that are there enjoying themselves to 70s disco. As Rocko and Heff depart from the island with the feeling of permanently losing Filbert to the forces of nature, the party ends and all the turtles; Filbert included, turn back into their nerdy selves and return home; meaning Filbert was coming back to O-Town. The trio is back home enjoying life until Heffer breaks out in hives, the result of fast food chains aligning.

[edit] Uniform Behavior

In this episode, Heffer becomes a security guard in order to pay for damages to the family car. He goes to Conglom-O to apply for the job assuming it's going to be a piece of cake but when he sleeps that night, he is visited by the 7 Udders of Justice, who make Heffer take a vow to do his duties more as a cop than a security guard. Heffer swears and begins to walk his beat. He spots Filbert who was just greeting Heffer but he (Filbert) is cracked down for not having his ID with him; which he really did but Heffer being too driven with power to believe him and confiscates his comic book. Rocko crosses the street to meet Heff but he is flagged with a ticket for jay-walking. Heffer then goes to Conglom-O for his night patrol in which he sees a fleeing security guard who hands the reigns over to him. Heff patrols the building on a big wheels style tricycle and spots Ed Bighead with a case of light bulbs. Heffer assumes Ed is stealing from the company and tosses him out with Ed angrily vowing to have Heff fired. Heff then sees a pair of beaver twins and is midly spooked. He then goes to the bar for a drink but is low on cash but the bartender Lloyd accepts his soul in exchange. Heff then sees spirits of his friends telling him that his uniform has gone to his head. Heff is further spooked by demons and ghouls that scare him right out of the building naked. Heff is arrested for nude running and tossed in jail when Rocko comes to bail him out. Rocko scolds at Heffer for letting power go to his head but is going to bail him out anyway. Heff then asks Rocko for money to pay for his car but Rocko tells the guard to keep Heff locked up. Heffer assumes Rocko's joking but finds out he wasn't.

[edit] Trivia

  • "Uniform Behavior" is a parody of the horror film The Shining.
  • Both episodes were the brainchilds of writer Martin Olson, who said Born To Spawn was inspired by theStar Trek episode Amok Time in which Spock has to return to his home planet to find a mate, and that Uniform Bevahior story was inspired by a friend of Olson's who's personality changed radically when he became a cop.
