Born to Kill (gang)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Born To Kill (a.k.a. the BTK Canal Boys or just BTK) was a Vietnamese organized crime group that thrived during the late 80's & early 90's. They were formed in New York City's Chinatown district. Most of the members were made up of refugees of Vietnam during the Vietnam War, shunned as outcasts by the Chinese-American residents of Chinatown. Their name originates from the phrase American G.I.s wrote on their helmets during the war.

BTK's story is novelized in the book Born To Kill: America's most notorious Vietnamese gang, and the changing face of organized crime by author T.J. English. English also wrote The Westies, which novelized the story of the titular Hell's Kitchen mob.
