Boris Stepanovich Zhitkov, Russian Борис Степанович Житков (18821938) was a Russian children writer, author of numerous books where he in a figurative form described various professions. In 1916 - 1924 he was a sailor, later a ship captain. He is best known for the hugely successful children's travel book What I Saw (Что Я Видел) about summer vacation adventures of a curious little boy nicknamed Pochemuchka.
