Bondeno is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Ferrara in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 45 km north of Bologna and about 15 km northwest of Ferrara. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 15,579 and an area of 175.1 km².[1]

The municipality of Bondeno contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Burana, Gavello, Ospitale, Pilastri, Ponte Rodoni, Salvatonica, San Biagio, Santa Bianca, Scortichino, Settepolesini, Stellata, and Zerbinate.

Bondeno borders the following municipalities: Cento, Felonica, Ferrara, Ficarolo, Finale Emilia, Mirabello, Mirandola, Sant'Agostino, Sermide, Vigarano Mainarda.
