[edit] History

Bombadilbegan in early 2005 after guitarist Bryan Rahija and bassist Daniel Michalak decided to start a band while studying abroad in Bolivia. They recorded several demos at an elementary school during their spare time.

After returning to the United States, Michalak recruited his brother John to write drum parts for the songs and the three spent the holiday break pulling the songs together. Pianist and friend Stuart Robinson joined the band several months later.

Following a busy fall 2005 semester of shows and demoing, Bombadil signed with Ramseur Records of Concord, NC after playing a show with The Avett Brothers at UNC Chapel Hill. The group immediately set out recording a debut EP, which was released in May of 2006. The group are currently writing and demoing songs for a full length album, which is expected to be released during the spring of 2007.

Bombadil has been reviewed/featured in NPR, Magnet Magazine, i guess im floating, The Independent Weekly, as well as in numerous internet blogs and newspapers.
