Bombacopsis is a medium-sized to large tree, that can reach 3 to 6 feet in diameter, and at times reaches a height of 100 feet. The trunk and larger branches often have sharp prickles. Its common range is in the forests of western Nicaragua, Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, and Panama.
