Bolsøy

Bolsøy is a former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway.
It was created in 1837 as Bolsøy formannskapsdistrikt. According to the 1835 census Bolsøy had a population of 2,391. The farm Sotnakken with 19 inhabitants was added to Bolsøy from Nesset in 1877, but parts of Bolsøy with 183 and 1,913 inhabitants respectively were moved to Molde municipality in 1915 and 1952.
On 1 January 1964 the rest of Bolsøy was incorporated into Molde. Prior to the merger Bolsøy had a population of 7,996.
