Bolotana is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Nuoro in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 120 km north of Cagliari and about 30 km west of Nuoro. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,160 and an area of 108.5 km².[1]
Bolotana borders the following municipalities: Bonorva, Bortigali, Illorai, Lei, Macomer, Noragugume, Orani, Ottana, Silanus.
