[edit] Synopsis
Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.
Bollo, the oldest gorilla in the Zoo-niverse is gravely ill. Bob Fossil persuades Howard to dress in an ape suit, replacing Bollo, so that he can continue receiving sponsorship money for the gorilla. Everything goes to plan until the Grim Reaper (Noel Fielding) arrives and mistakenly takes Howard to Monkey Hell. Vince sets off to rescue Howard and they run into trouble when they encounter the Ape of Death, whom is plagued with problem hair.
Spoilers end here.
[edit] Songs feautred
- "Ape of Death" – sung by the Ape of Death (Rich Fulcher) after Vince uses Naboo's miracle wax to fix his hair.
- The episode was originally going to feature "The Soup Song", an acapella song sung by Vince and Howard whilst being hung on chains by the Ape of Death, but was cut for time reasons. It later appeared in "Fountain of Youth".
[edit] Trivia
- It is the first episode to feature Naboo (Michael Fielding) making use of his bong, which can be seen later on in the series.
- Pete (Peter Kyriacou), who apparently works at Dixons, actually did work in Dixons at one point in real life.
- Howard's coffin has "VIP" instead of "RIP" written on the front, an in-joke by Noel Fielding.
