Bokanovskification
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bokanovskification is a biological process used by scientists in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World to induce "budding" in fertilized human eggs. The result is ninety-six genetically identical human fetuses.
According to the book, "bokanovskification consists of a series of arrests of development. We check the normal growth and, paradoxically enough, the egg responds by budding." (Chapter 1)
