Bojan Djordjic (Serbian: Бојан Ђорђић / Bojan Đorđić; born February 6, 1982 in Belgrade, Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Swedish football player of ethnic Serbian descent who currently plays for Plymouth Argyle.

[edit] Biography

Bojan Djordjic started out at IF Brommapojkarna before moving to Manchester United in 1999 as a youth player, but only made two appearances for the Red Devils. At Manchester United, he was awarded the prize "Best Talent of the Year" at the age of 18. He was considered a great talent and many people, including Alex Ferguson, thought he would become a regular first team player within a year. He was loaned to Sheffield Wednesday, Aarhus GF, and Cverna Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) before moving to the Rangers. However, injuries limited his chances to establish himself in the first team at Ibrox, and was moved to Plymouth Argyle on a free transfer in 2005. Other clubs interested in the winger was Stockholm-based side AIK, a move that would have been quite logical since Djordjic is a self-confessed supporter of the club. He has several times stated in various interviews that his dream is to represent AIK one day.

On the August 24, 2006, after spending just over a season at Plymouth Argyle, Bojan was placed on the transfer list by manager Ian Holloway as a result of his sometimes lax attitude towards the team when playing and training. When he improves his attitude towards the game, Bojan will be given the opportunity to get back in the side.

Djordjic finally returned to the starting lineup after exactly a 13 month absence (his last start being on October 18, 2005) on November 18, 2006 scoring in the 5th minute in a 1-1 away draw at Southend United. He was removed from the transfer list the following week, and went on to score in the next two consecutive games.
