Boing

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Boing (IPA: bojŋ) is an onomatopoeia used when something bounces off of something else, usually the floor. It implies usage of a spring or springiness. Boing is also a sound commonly used in cartoons when something:

  • Bounces
  • Springs off of something
  • Makes a springy movement in resistance to another object
  • Someone/something is hit by a usually falling object, causing the target to vibrate and/or resonate with a "boioioioioing" type of noise.
